Secret Brunch Summer Series

Can you keep a secret? The Secret Brunch brand organise events throughout the year across London, Paris and Milan and the third round of their Summer Series in July was held at a secret rooftop somewhere in central London. So you’d naturally assume its brunch held in a surprise location, but it’s more of an all-day rave with an optional brunch that’s not included in your ticket!

A week before, the ‘Riviera Chic’ theme was released, giving us time to organise a 1950s Cote d’Azure inspired ensemble and the morning of, the location was finally revealed as Coq d’Argent near Bank. There was blistering sunshine on the day and our super early bird tickets (£26.39) included the complimentary Belvedere Bar for an hour from noon, which was a great start!

We booked brunch that was catered by Coq d’Argent and I had the oysters, Eggs Royale and Eton Mess. The oysters were fresh and I enjoyed the mint infused meringue pieces in the Eton Mess, but the hollandaise sauce on the eggs Royale was quite dense and overpowering, which combined with smoked salmon was a bit too much!

We continued drinking and dancing till 6pm in the garden where the DJ blasted out relentless house anthems accompanied by a trumpeter, who was excellent! Overall, it was a fun day, we met some great people and danced a lot in the sunshine surrounded by coloured smoke and confetti. It was only the food that was disappointing and the pole dancer left a lot to be desired after her white leotard kept revealing more than she intended!

Nevertheless, I’ll be heading to their Secret Temple: Halloween Special on Saturday 29th October, which still have SB tickets available! You will have to sign up for membership if you don’t have a friend who’s already a member though.
