Greenberry Café

Planning a Saturday out in Primrose Hill, I researched the best brunch spots to start the day and stumbled across Greenberry Café as an option. After a scan of their menu, it was a clear WINNER, being the only restaurant I have currently found with shakshuka on the menu! What’s shakshuka you ask? It’s a Middle Eastern dish of eggs poached in a spiced sauce of tomatoes, peppers and onions, typically cooked altogether in a single skillet. All you need is wedge of bread to scoop the tomatoey eggy goodness into your mouth…mmm mm!

When I arrived, I was immediately smug about having booked ahead as there was a mini crowd of brunchers desperate for tables. The restaurant was truly beautiful- clean with heaps of natural light, exposed brick walls, plants, green hanging lamps and an impressively high and packed bar. Service was excellent and I was in shakshuka heaven! My only mildly negative remark would be that there wasn’t enough toast (one slice) served with my dish, however, they happily brought me extra slices when I asked without charging extra. I had a fantastic brunch all round and will return for another or to sample their dinner menu!
