Patty & Bun

A year ago, almost to the month, I embarked on a mission to find the best (in my eyes) burger in London! Little did I know that the first burger joint I tried would end up being the reigning champion a year later, Patty & Bun! Everything about the James St restaurant hits the spot, red stripe beers, superb playlist (that’s available on Spotify!), dim lighting from low hanging lamps and dark wooden benches with a cosy vibe – the place is just cool and the food, even better! I don’t think you can really go wrong with any burger from the menu, but favourites are the ‘Lambshank Redemption’, ‘Hot Chic’ and ‘Smokey Robinson’…it’s not uncommon for me to order 3 burgers between 2!

One of the best burgers I have ever had in my life was The Truffle Meister special from here – brioche, ketchup, lettuce, celeriac & radish slaw, aged beef patty topped with truffled short rib, shittake mushroom, roast chicken mayo and caramelised onions! The ‘Thunder Thighs’ (confit chicken thighs) with tamarind glaze, smoked peanuts and smashed cucumbers were also phenomenal. Amen!
